ST Hospital Joins IMA Camp at Korkai: A Day of Healthcare and Village Adoption

Indian Medical Association (IMA) Kumbakonam Branch, in its unwavering commitment to providing essential healthcare services to the community, organized a special Village Adoption and Medical Camp as part of the “Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam Scheme.” The event took place at Vivaga Mahal, Korkai on a bright Sunday, 9th April 2023, with the active support and participation of ST Hospital and a dedicated team of doctors and volunteers.

Under the leadership of Dr. S. Rajendran, President of IMA Kumbakonam Branch, along with Dr. G. Sambasivam, Secretary, and Dr. S. Sujan, Treasurer, the camp proved to be a resounding success in providing free healthcare services to the local community. The main focus of the camp was on addressing eye health issues, with 40 individuals receiving much-needed assistance from the optical division.

During the camp, a total of 14 new cataract cases were identified, comprising 8 cases of both eye cataracts and 6 cases of single-eye cataracts. Early detection and intervention play a vital role in preserving eyesight, and this initiative aimed to extend quality eye care to those in need.

The camp also featured a breast feeding quiz, emphasizing the importance of maternal and infant health. Participants engaged enthusiastically, and prizes were distributed to promote awareness and healthy practices.

ST Hospital was proud to be part of this meaningful initiative, contributing to the well-being of the community and supporting IMA’s commitment to accessible healthcare for all. Our team of dedicated doctors and volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure that every attendee received the necessary medical care and attention.
