HISTORY : 
Dr S Thyagarajan the founder of ST hospital was the third son of Mr Sambantham Mudaliyar and Mrs Shakunthala Hailing from a simple agricultural background of Alangudi village, Thiruvarur district.

Dr S Thyagarajan was the first generation of doctor in the family. He studied MBBS as the first batch in the prestigious Tanjore Medical College in the year 1961. He worked in the RMH tanjore for 2 years and served as a MO in Kumbakonam Government Hospital for 7 years.

Because of his sheer dedication and hard work from a humble thatched roofed OPD in 1970, he gradually built a 15 bedded nursing home in ten years and later the present 50 bedded multi-specialty center in 2002. Third to fourth-generation hospital. We serve for nearly 50 km radius in and around Kumbakonam. That was his dream to impart humane medical care to all patients at an affordable cost under one roof.
